Meditation on Destruction
2020
Destruction, whatever form it takes, is disorienting. It is a reminder of how complex things really are. It is a reminder of the interconnectedness of our actions. It can bring assumptions out in bold relief and make us aware of the exact points of our complacencies. It is a raw display of power and control which threatens to subsume. It is also a door, a moment of vulnerability, a liminal state where priorities are laid bare and then defended. It can be a time to reimagine and create paths for radical change. I wanted to take a moment to recognize and honor that this is where we are.
